This blog post features a reflection of all that I have learned from this semester.

At the beginning of this semester, I was a little nervous when I found out that I had to not only create a blog on a website, but also reactivate my Instagram account and make posts for social media. The more I thought about it though, the more I figured out that this was an opportunity for me to be creative and share my faith. I sort of looked at both the blog posts and the social media account as an “online scrapbook.” Or a way to display how God has been at work in my life through a faith based community.

First off, I was a little apprehensive, because I had deleted my personal Instagram app last summer and had not been posting or did not have any desire to be as some would say “back on the grid.” Rather than living my life online, I have truly been enjoying living out my real life, and focusing on the friendships and relationships that I have in person. Needless to say I was worried that with going back on social media I would revert to my old ways of living my life online and that would shift my focus from in person and draw me backwards.

But on the flip side, through this blog I have learned that it has been a way to share my faith with my classmates and viewers. I feel as though once the weeks of school began to pick up, the idea of my blog just started to take off. I suddenly became interested in not just sharing my faith but reaching out to others to share their stories and what God has done in their lives as well. I think that both the website and Instagram platforms have given me the opportunity to be creative as well as share God’s word and how he has been working in others’ lives.

This experience has also given me the opportunity to practice and sharpen my skills with Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro. I think that this will definitely be beneficial for my future career as well. Also, with managing a business social media account, I think it was cool to see all of the analytics and the impacts that my posts made for my viewers.

Something that I have been thinking about for a while now and have been asked a few times by some of my followers is if I am going to continue this account after the semester ends. I have not made a full decision yet, but I have definitely been thinking about it. Based off of the feedback from some of my followers, they said that they really like the idea for this account, enjoy seeing the posts, reading the stories, and would like to see me continue with it.

All in all for both this blog and my Instagram account, I have loved diving into and sharing scripture, interviewing friends and sharing their amazing stories, gaining wisdom, and being able to stay rooted in my faith throughout this journey. Thank you to all who have taken the time to read my blog and see my posts. I hope that it has not only inspired you but has encouraged you to continue to seek out God’s will for your life through faith, friends, and fellowship.
